Energy and Affordability

Gas prices, electricity prices and home heating costs have increased dramatically in 2022. Energy inflation is 23% year over year according to Statscan, far exceeding the already high inflation experienced for all consumer goods. This is not a new phenomena, as energy inflation has outpaced all goods for the past two decades.

The energy transition can not be focused only on decarbonization. The transition, to be sustainable, needs to focus on improving the affordability of energy for all consumers, businesses and industries. Our approach to energy efficiency is to identify energy savings that decrease operating costs and yield the highest return on investment for our customers.
